When I was a kid, I vacationed with my parents on the coast of southern New Hampshire. This was in the 1950s, before the interstate highway system was built. Dad drove. Mom rode shotgun. I was in the back seat. One of the things I remember seeing as we headed up to Hampton Beach was Herb Philbrick's place.
I didn't know he was in the advertising business before he crossed that line and became a spy. Interesting. Very interesting...

without having to Kuggle who is this Philbrick?
I am astonished that the genius from Jacksonville, former Jeopardy contestant doesn't know who Herb Philbrick is. He was a spy back in the 1940s/50s. Settled in southern New Hampshire, where he owned some kind of store that was on the way to Hampton Beach. That TV show, I Led Three Lives was based on his life. C'mon. You knew that. Didn't you?
now that you mention it yes....takes some time to put together. In fact recently did a puzzle/quiz where people were matched with apples. he was Northern Spy- that variety of apple. Some times the synapses don't connect, sometimes they misfire as in I kept thinking Kim Philby?
I knew you'd know. My faith has been restored. And yeah, Kim Philby's a name I associate with Philbrick. Both spies. Wonder what kind of apple Philby would be? Rotten to the corps?
two things....when I was doing that puzzle with apples I was frustrated having been led off track by focusing on Red, a common component of many apple names....then eureka...I thought of the Spy varieties,(there's even a Red Spy hybrid- but it didn't fit). I was happy. And... Please qualfy, in future- former Jeopardy CHAMPION...not just a contestant please.
Sorry Champ.
