Blogger Terry Cowgill ( Terry Numero Uno on Jake's Spyral Notebook blog ) mentioned the New York Times " Pinch " Sulzberger in his post this morning. The post concerned Scooter Libby and Joe Wilson. It got me going...

Pinch. Scooter. Why is it that baseball players no longer have nicknames like these? Dice-K. A-Rod. The Big Unit. These are the so called nicknames the millionaires have these days. Pinch would be a great one for designated hitters. And Holy Cow, Scooter’s perfect for infielders who retire and become broadcasters. I know, I know. This has nothing to do with Joe ” Yellow Cake ” Wilson or anything Cowgill was writing about. Still...
