Before the Deluge. Why? I don't know. I was surfing and came across the video. This has been one of my favorite tunes for decades. I first listened to Jackson Browne sing it back in the late 1970s, when Donna and I were renting a cottage on the bank of the Connecticut River in Agawam, Massachusetts.
I was a newspaper reporter then. We lived next door to an amusement park which was called Riverside Park. It's a Six Flags monstrosity now. Rivers. Floods. Deluges. Katrina. New Orleans. Notes taken re: all that by reporters...
Only connect...
This is a terrific version of Jackson's classic tune. Get your ass off the couch, grab the umbrella and walk out the door. A hard rain's falling out there. Who'll stop the rain?
Listen up.
